a non-linear, unsteady aerodynamic effect occurring when aerofoils rapidly change angle or, in simpler terms, how the bumblebee is able to fly

3 Nov 2003I completed my last tri on Oct. 12 — have I sent out pics and a blow by blow to anyone? that would be no — if I had a Mac I could crank that stuff out in seconds flat — sadly, I have a PC and have to compress and crop all the images manually which makes for a time consuming drag-o-rama.
So then after the tri I got a small head cold that would not go away — I blame it on the incredibly crappy weather conditions of the tri — cold and windy — a great time to be half nekkid running a race — so then on top of the cold my achilles tendons decided that they would go on strike — and I mean they really went on strike — like hardly could walk kind of strike — going up and down stairs was soooooooo painful — so I stopped training to give the little buggers a break and read up on how to care for them — according to the literature on the web I was working the hills a little too much — well, its hilly here what the heck did they expect?
So we had a friend visit from San Diego — that was sooo much fun — she’s a hoot to be around and very funny — although I must say I was getting really sick of hearing ‘OK Jerry” ‘You know what I mean, Jerry.’ She calls everyone Jerry. So she and I went to a Bikram yoga class. That was good fun — she didn’t sweat a drop — damn filipinas — I was soaking wet but happy — it was hard but no sooo hard that you can’t walk out of the class — and there were a few poses I would have liked to spend more time in but you can’t because they are on this sort of scheduled pose layout thing.
I got an 85 on my first math quiz. Makes me very sad, very sad. But I feel I will rally. I scored an 84 in my first environmental science quiz but have since done two extra credit assignments to compensate. So all’s good there — environmental science is one hard class — lots of reading and relearning all sorts of stuff. (biology, geology, chemistry, ecology) yikes! I’m a learning! I haven’t decided if I will be taking the winter quarter — funds may be a little low and I’m all about budgeting.
Till next time —
